Meet Our New Fort Pierce Branch Office Manager
“People kept calling me and telling me that I should do this,” says Olive Wedderburn. With a devotion to numerous non-profit organizations, and owning three of her own businesses, Olive decided the time was right to jump the fence from being a volunteer to becoming the new Fort Pierce Branch Office Manager. Olive bursts with enthusiasm at her goal of bringing awareness of her local chapter to the community. She explains one of her projects -- getting into the schools to bring the youth component on board. “We’re launching a massive campaign,” she says of her team’s efforts to participate in virtually every St. Lucie County function. “If they don’t know me yet… they will!”
Olive speaks with confidence. “I’ve got the heart of a volunteer. I know what the mission is, and I can make a difference.” At the same time, her humility is powerful: “People are grateful for what I just see as a natural need… they’re my neighbors.”
Olive comes to us as a former Red Cross employee. She was the assistant station manager on a military base in Grafenwohr, Germany. In addition, she has served as a Director for federally funded programs developing educational plans. She has been a property manager and a volunteer for the North Treasure Coast Chapter where she is a Disaster Action Team captain. We welcome her to our staff and look forward to working with her to continue the growth of Red Cross services in St. Lucie County.
