Safety Camp at Fellsmere Elementary a Big Success!
Over 600 students from pre-school through fifth grade recently attended a safety camp held at Fellsmere Elementary School. The camp included eight stations, including First Aid, Water Safety, Fire Safety, Sun and Heat Awareness, and Lightning, among others.
The Fellsmere Fire Department and Sparky, McGruff the Crime Dog, the Sheriff's Department, paramedics and Red Cross volunteers and staff all participated in this exciting day. Red Cross bags filled with goodies donated by several organizations were given to the children. Wal-Mart donated money to purchase beverages for the volunteers, and lunch was provided by Marsh Landing and Beef O'Brady's. Our thanks to all who helped make this such a great event.
