North Treasure Coast Chapter Volunteers Assist Tornado Victims
The death and destruction brought by the tornadoes of February 2 have ravaged the lives of hundreds of our neighbors in central Florida. They have lost friends, loved ones, family members, homes and possessions. When they don't know where to turn, the Red Cross is there to provide shelter, water, snacks, hot meals, emergency assistance and comfort. Counseling will be available to those who need it, as recovery progresses.
Volunteers from your North Treasure Coast Chapter were deployed to the disaster area to help with the relief effort. We also sent an ERV (Emergency Response Vehicle) stocked with water and snacks for distribution to tornado victims.
The Red Cross is seeking monetary donations to provide debit cards to families who have lost everything. Debit cards will allow families to purchase enough food, clothing, medicines, baby supplies and other necessities to get them through the initial crisis. The value of each card will depend on the needs of the family.
