North Treasure Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross receives much needed grant from John’s Island Foundation.

Volunteers load storage unit donated by John's Island FoundationThe North Treasure Coast Chapter is proud to announce that we are the recipient of a much-needed grant from the John’s Island Foundation. Through the generosity of the Foundation, the chapter was able to purchase 234 shelter cots, 300 special need cots, and a forty foot storage unit to house the cots. These cots will be invaluable when shelters are opened for the next disaster. The special needs cots will assist the frail, disabled and elderly clients in Indian River County.

Sarah Tippet Ruwe, Chief Executive Officer of the chapter, accepted the grant. “What an incredible gift our community has received from the John’s Island Foundation. Thanks to this wonderful organization, we can provide comfort when people need it most.”
