Donations to Disaster Relief Fund are
Urgently Needed

Red Cross Volunteer and ChildDozens of small and midsize disasters in the past year, as well as a record tornado season, the devastating and widespread Midwest flooding, and unprecedented numbers of wildfires in California have taken a huge toll on The American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. In addition, what looks to be a very active hurricane season has already begun.

All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by the voluntary donations of time and money from the American people.

A donation to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund allows us to help disaster victims, wherever they may be. Please help the people whose lives are devastated by thousands of disasters across the country each year.

Volunteers Needed

With hurricane season upon us, we are looking for volunteers to help us meet the needs of our friends and neighbors, in case we are affected by hurricanes this year. We have an URGENT NEED for shelter managers. We will train you to volunteer in whatever capacity you feel best suits your talents and interests. Please contact us for information.

Steve Weagle Completes Another Ride!

Steve Weagle, Chief Meteorologist for WPTV Channel 5, has been a namegreat friend of the Red Cross, and every year he raises awareness of hurricane season and the Red Cross by riding his bicycle from Sebastian to Boca Raton.

Our heartfelt thanks go to Steve, who is our hero. We are also very grateful to everyone at Capt. Hiram's; Will and Tatiana Dyer of Dyer Chevrolet and Mazda; Ian and Colin Lloyd, owners of Bluewater Beach Grill; and Norris's Famous Place for Ribs. All of these businesses made generous donations to our chapter and served as backdrops for Steve's broadcasts.

Thanks also to Tommy Peccaro, Steve's #1 fan, who raised money at his school to donate to our chapter, and who rode with Steve on the first part of his journey. He's been coming out for Steve's ride for several years, and we're always happy to see him there!

State Rep. Poppell, Indian River EOC Manager Tony Carper, and St. Lucie County Emergency Management Coordinator Chris Christopher all took time out of their schedules to be interviewed by Steve along the way, and we appreciate their support.
